Hello!.. Quick question: I am working on a UAV project for the local Coast Guard. I'll need an OSD/GPS unit that will display latitude/longitude coordinates so that rescuers can be directed to an exact spot where there may be a lost child or a plane wreck, etc. Any ideas? Thanks!

You can my designed MAX7456 OSD dev board, you can program it using SPI port. Any char you can display to Video screen, code is available in my postings for LPC2106/RCM37000. LPC2106 board available from digikey for US$10.00. Here is the link for the SPI OSD DEV BOARD.

I have some prototype OSD board available (complete OSD DEV BOARD + GPS + LPC2106 board), pm me if you are interested. I have code availbale for LPC2106 and RCM3700 (its free, my rc group posting have it all), its a working code.

You can try Dragon OSD, RangeVideo OSD, IFOSD (Intelligent Flight), or Black Stork OSD. The first two also have a return to home autopilot feature. The new Eagle tree Pro will also have this feature.

Are they both for Rudder Elevator only???

Yes they are rudder only, but with the assist of a FMA co-pilot I think they can handle ailerons. Both are the simpliest of "autopilots".
