I am a newbie to rc helis and planes and have the real flight g4 pack and have an hour or 2 everyday on it, my questions are how accurate are the flight characteristics of a sim and has anyone learned too fly on a sim rather than an instructor? Thank you.

I'm one of those people.
I went straight to a CP heli from a sim (Reflex) and a while back did the same with a plane. The heli doesn't behave exactly the same as in the sim but it's close enough.
The plane physics are much closer imo.
You should be fine without an instructor but if you know someone do yourself a favor and use him/her ;)

Another newbie here. Which sim would you recommend to use? Does FS One have virtual trainer similar to Real Flight? How good/useful is it?

Help is greatly appreciated,
BGA

BGA the best sim I have seen is real flights g4 pack, and wow each plane does respond very close well close enough too the real thing, I also learned to fly my blade 400 all from a sim which was my first chopper, and my planes too but still getting better before I fly my top flite p51 which is on the sim so I practice with that most of the time. It is the most expensive but WELL worth every penny compared to other sims IMO.
