I've been using XFLR5 and X-Foil for several years with nary a problem aside from the occasional program crash but I've run into a really strange glitch that I can't get ironed out.
Last night I did an analysis of the HQW3-8.5 and HQW2.5-8, I downloaded the coordinates from the Quabeck homepage, saved them as . dat files in the usual way and imported them into XFLR5. I ran a polar analysis on both files and they looked perfect until I inserted them into the generic wing design I use as a base for comparison, the 3-8.5 worked perfectly but every time I inserted the 2.5-8 XFLR5 went squirrely.
The wing file units switched from metric to Imperial (inches), the chord lengths increased at some stations and decreases on others, the offsets changed to zero and an odd string of numbers appeared in one offset value box.
I tried an analysis and the local c/L had a huge hump in it that I know is not present in the original, the downwash looks nuts and just about every other parameter looks bonkers.
The file I downloaded from the HQ site doesen't appear to be corrupted, I scanned it with an anti-virus program.
I went back and downloaded the file again, did another polar run and got the same result...anybody have any idea what is going on?
Thanks for any help.
