I downloaded the trial version and I enjoyed it a lot. The only thing I can see wrong is that I clipped some trees but was clearly above them. In fact, I could see daylight between the aircraft and the tree!! Is this the standard?? I was thinking of getting G4.5 but am not convinced as to the quality. The fields look great and the aircraft handled well. The scenery glitch does put me off though. I haven't tried the Hangar Nine sim yet. Please feel free to give input into my decision.. :D

I am considering uprdaing from G4. Anyone know of any glitches involved in upgrading verses a new download?

I had to try 3 times before I got a good download. First one was totally junk (downloaded from the sim's "Additional Options" window on opening page). The program looked like a bad acid trip, or Salvador Dali painting. Support said to try again from the .exe link from their download page. ,... This time I got an error note saying something like "this ain't going to work cuz it's corrupt" or something like that. I tried it again and it worked. It takes about 30 minutes to download using cable internet. Very fun. I've flown it more the last couple days than I have all year. I also updated my driver software,... which fixed the fact that I couldn't get wakes when flying off water. You can hear the wheels spin when tiy grease a landing. I crashed into a water tower and you could hear clank, clunk, bang all the way down as the plane fell to the ground. I've heard people comment that it's not needed in a flight simulator. Well it's fun for me glad it's there.

Timbo, I wouldn't let it bother you. I didn't find any problems like that. One time I crashed hard and the plane seemed to dissapear half way into the grass,... but then maybe it was trying to simulate the fact that I had buried it :-)
Personally, I'm finding it very helpful to practice sideslip landings.

I just finished installing the G4.5.
WHOA! Much better than the G3. I'm just getting started but so far its worth every penny. The graphics are excellent. Plus you get all the add ons I didn't have for free...

There are a cople of quirks with some older aircraft but nothing major that I found. The increased reality of tip stalling and heli wander along with the ground movement and the extra sound effects (like landing your plane upside down) really add a lot to the reality of the simulation.
I hate to say it but these should have all been in 4.0, but since 4.5 is a free upgrade I won't complain too much :D

I wen to 4.5 from G4 and now I cannot connect to any servers online. Had to remove it. Tried it several times.
I am not behind a firewall either.

I like the obstacle course. I just flew the Ultimate Bipe all the way through the long course. Pretty cool stuff.

Has anyone had any problems with the add ons, the offline ones. I can down load them and than I follow the instructions and I get nothing. The program runs fine it just does not seem to incorporate the add ons. At any rate I want to get the "Gym" airport does anyone know what version thats on?
As far as the 4.5 upgrade I like it. At least with this upgrade I had no problems

eli5539,
Did you put the add ons in the data folder located in the program file for RF? Try that and it should allow you to access the add ons from the software.
Good luck,
David

Not sure, I will take a look tonight. Ran into a second problem, I down loaded the blade cp pro and 450 heli's from the site before I upgrade from 4 to 4.5, they worked fine. Tried them last night with 4.5 and when they are on the ground it is like a earth quake is going on. When I got luckie enough to get one in the air the tail shock like a had a bad heading hold gyro, very weird

I ran into one heli that had the tail wag problem, it was amusingly realistic, good bpractice for controlling it. I don't remember which one it was though, all the others I've tried work fine.
I also have expansion packs 1-4 installed and about 40 DLed planes. I haven't tried EVERY plane in the set but so far only that one heli showed problems.
