:D Spent both yesterday and today flying solo at my local power field. Seems powered folks go home when its chilly out!
Gotta say though, all the benches, pilot stations and windsock poles present a bit of an obstical course when shooting precision landings. :D :D :D
Was launching between the windsock and shack all day, better not goof up!
Yesterday I caught a boomer right off the line, topped out around 1100' and just hung there for about 25 mins. I could of stayed up longer, but got bored and wanted to land and launch again.
Today was marginal, had several +10 min flights, but lift was spotty and my best was about 700' and had to claw everything up there just to stay up.
Then I just started launching and playing with the Marauder. Loops, inverted flight, (SLOW) rolls, etc. Even pulled out a couple of hammerhead stalls. Best of the day was diving from launch height right towards my face. The plane was cooking as I buzzed the tower (me). Pulled up hard, leveled off and brought her in for a spot landing (my vest tossed on the runway.)
Actually I did devote some time to landing practice today. Nailed about 5 out of the 8 I was trying for. (within a 1.5 meter circle of target)
Gonna head out tomorrow just to see if conditions improve...
By the way, this is the first November I've ever attempted to fly, thinking conditions would be worthless previously. Glad I listened to all my friends here and got my butt out of the house for some fall / winter flying!!! :D :D :p
