Lipo capable brushed esc

I just bought a Proboat Mini-c and i want to run the brushed motor with a lipo. This is the first boat i have ever bought so i am a total noob. Thanks for any and all help.

Just use the ESC you have, and add a Low Voltage Cutoff to it to protect the lipo--a LVC can be ordered or you may find one at a local hobby shop. I think FMC makes one good for up to 4 lipos (can set the cutoff voltage from 8 to 12 volts) for about $20. There are others that will automatically count the number of lipo cells (1-6) and set the cutoff accordingly (3v per cell). I have several and use them with older brushless ESCs as well as brushed ESCs...
