Has anyone put one of those mini camera on boat that can transmit back to a
recorder on land? I know they do it in planes, heli's, and rockets. Just
curious.

PS - the email is real if you have any photos.

I was just thinking that it would be cool to put a pin hole camera in the
bow of a fast boat and drive it using VR glasses.

I'm making one!! boats ideal not as much to smash into as ground or
air vehicles. If the other crafts do it then it shouldnt be a problem, radios work
on boats, cameras use more bandwidth than RC but at worst this would
mean a larger than normal aerial. If you put the cameras say twice the
distance apart as our eyes you get better stereoscopic effect, like looking
at half scale models of things.

Been done, probably plenty of times. I've seen it on at least 1 web
sight (don't hve the URL - sorry). As you suspect, it looked pretty
cool.

I looked into it for use in an airplane, but then we lost our flying field.
You can get a camera rig set up and running for about $400. With short
ranges we use you can probably just buy that $79 rig you see advertised. If
your interested drop me an email with your address and I can email you my
bookmarks for the camera stuff.

<p>I have a barge that I tow behind my tugboat. I mounted my camcorder
on it once and got some really cool footage of the local regatta. Viewed
later at home of course.
