Folks -

Long ago, when I was just a lad, I dreamed of building a woody glider (2 m?) called a "Pokey 808" (article of which I pored over in a copy of MAN or some such in my grade school library). Does anyone know of such a plane or whether plans are still available? If someone can post a copy of the original article, that would bring back memories.

This was back in the late '60s/early '70s.

Many Thanks,

The Pokey 808 was a standard class (100") sailplane. It was successful in its day but suffered from a poor quality kit and very weak (by today's standards) main spar. Prperly beefed up, it could be a worthy competitor in the Nostalgia class. Check with "Thermaler" - he may have plans. I believe the original was all balsa and a second version had a fiberglass fuselage.
