Where can I find solder for making up Lipo packs? The solder on the tabs looks to be aluminum based.

The tabs are normally solderable with normal tin solder. However, one usually is aluminium and it has solderable tab welded to it to make this possible. Only if that weld breaks is it normally necessary to need an ali solder. Search for 'aluminium solder paste' on Google or sites that sell lipos. But check that you need it first!

If it has solder on it, chances are it will be lead/tin or something similar.

I have found that soldering Al works ok with normal solder BUT you need a special FLUX.

In the US you tend to be able to get a solder paste than contains it: In the UK I found a company called Carrs, who sell a flux that works with normal solder.
