Hello this is my first post on DIY forum.

I am thinking of designing a 2.4ghz RX for micro flyer. It has been my dream since I played with PIC MCUs.

Currently, all I have is some knowledge in PIC MCU and a soldering station. I have never worked on RF related project and never been formally educated on this subject.

It probably take several years or decades to complete the project but I want to start by knowing what I will need to start on this project.

What book would you recommend on this subject? Will I need oscilloscope? If answer is yes then what kind? or Any equipment essential to this kind of task?

Thank you in advance.

Jin.

i made this Tx_Rx with the nordic nRF24L01 transiver i did use the "Mirf" board from sparkfun, read text in application note for more info, this unit use atmel avr which can give you a 10bits of adc for sensing you joystick and 16bit timer for output ppm or software pwm.
