I'm getting setup to use my Hitec Neon SS with USB interface on the free FMS. Will I also be able to use this setup on the Microsoft Flight Simulator X? I've called Hitec, but they did not know. Rich

As long as Windows recognizes it as a game controller you should be able to get it to work. I've made my Optic 6 work with FS2004. I don't know about the throttle slider on your Neon though.

Flying the full-size planes with the transmitter just doesn't feel right though, and won't really provide you a good learning experience that will translate to R/C. I'd suggest using a regular joystick or flight yoke for the Microsoft simulator and only use dedicated R/C sims to teach you R/C flying.
