Did I mention the awesome blade sounds through pitch changes? Did I mention the awesome inverted auto at the end? Did I mention the full scale heli flyover sounds at the end as though you had choreographed the effect

Since we were watching it on Mac with old Flip4Mac - both my wife and me thought on couple of occasions that frame rate was wrong - like someone put it on FF. Only sound of heli and clapping at the end assured us it was proper speed! Incredible! LOL :)
BTW Mac says 146.1Mbyte...

Some pics, we didn't want to show them yet but they leaked out at the last funfly we had so.......enjoy :)
Plastic parts are still fast prototyping so they don't have a nice finish.
All hex screws have brass inserts just like in the servo frame.
We will release CF frame kit in January.
Same weight as plastic frame (maybe 2-3 grams less).
Kit will include:
2 - CF (or G10) side Frames
1 - Plastic battery tray
1 - Plastic lower plate
1 - Plastic third beairing support
1 - All screws needed for the conversion
DO NOT KNOW PRICE YET BUT WILL BE PRICED COMPETITIVELY AS ALL OUR PRODUCTS.

How much that CF frame weight compared to plastic one?

Good news :)
Is the ESC mounting area lengthened to provide more protection or is that just a relatively short ESC ?
Is it a house brand ESC that will be supplied by MSH or an after-market one ?
I notice that the belt looks as if it is about to slip off the main gear altogether, what's with that ?

Hey, downloaded the video , YEP! I see what Boyd is talking about now, That is one kick azz video with that background, sound and Yep Boyd. that real heli at the end is icying on the cake. That dude was git-en-it. One think I notice, power to weight is Great, HS what 2600 or 2700? And seen a video of the logo 400, sounds like its spinning 3000 and getting the same Reaction but shorter flight time, huh? sounds and looks like the logo 400 is heavy :)

From what I have seen, the Logo400 is heavier than a Trex500 and a whisker lighter than the Hurricane425. 500-class heli weight comparison
================================
kgfly Oct 2008
------------ -------- -------- ----- ------- -----------
Heli Variant Frame Head Tail Weight (g)

Hurricane425 ? CNC plastic 1485

MSH500 Protos Plastic Mixed plastic 1140

My belt sits up high like that too. Not sure why as the belt position is governed by the guide rollers on the tail output and the front belt tensioner.
Doesnt seem to be a problem though as it has never slipped off.

Belt is high because third bearing retainer has been made in fast prototyping and is a little bit of, probably 1mm.

Corrado, in your wise experience, what are the functional benefits of CF frames? I always thought they were not functionally superior to plastic frames. The fact that your CF prototype is only 2-3 grams lighter seems to reinforce this view.
I do admit however it is prob beneficial to increasing sales as it expands the appeal to those who want CF frames purely for its asthetical values.

:(
so its purely for its good looks? I do start to question the use of all metal heads as well, esp in the trex family.
I would at least hope they have some functional value.
Am still waiting for a frame that has crash sections that deform under crashes to minimise damage to the rest of the heli, similar to impact absorbing regions built in the front of the car.

Strengthen one thing and another will break. So I am not sure if I will by it when I next break my frame... but I might... It does look cool... -J

Corrado,
Do you think you might extend the bottom plastic plate so that it comes almost all the way to the boom block with this CF frame kit? The reason I ask is that the wires will be cleaner and on that back of that is where I mount my second receiver. :-)
-J
PS I drilled through my frame halves seam just above the secondary RX spot so that I could route my gyro wires a little cleaner...

Yes, final prototype, the one that made it to the mold had that part a lot longer.
