Dear All,
I have been flying an Explorer 40 highwing on a 0.55OS engine for a year now. Recently my engine seized inflight due to crank failure. My instructor told me that repairing the same will cost me more than half the price of the new engine plus I will have to wait for the parts. As I need to move to low-winger anyway, he is suggesting a 0.91OS that he has in stock.
My skill-level can be called intermediate as I can do loops, rolls, spirals, vertical figure-8s, Cuban figure-8s etc but the highwinger cannot do torque rolls and knife-edge. However my landings do tend to be a bit bumpy.
What I want to know is should I make the jump to the 0.91 (as I understand essentially any plane that takes a 0.61 can also take the 0.91 and 0.61 is out of stock)?
Secondly, I have shortlisted the Tiger-60 and the Tucano-60 from Paylessflymore in Mumbai. Which one do you recommend? Mfg for both planes is unknown.
