hi every time that i do a search for my sim FSONE i find a lot of post saying the planes need to slightly tweak it or changed (cg,wingspan, etc) so im opening this thread to ask for suggestion for me and others out there in the same position[:D] so we can make the few models in the sim to fly like the real deal or better.

especially for the foamis and 3d planes[;)]

pls post the changes you have made for your airplanes with the actual number!!!! (ex cg aft -0.33333)

NOTE: i know this is matter of taste (what flys good for me is not the same for you and so on) but give it a try i might like what you like.

thxs for your time

I think you'll find people will read your post as "can someone give me copies of your settings to same me the time and trouble of tweeking them myself"

You may find the only real option you have is goggling for sites where people have uploaded tweeked models

It's amazing how you get a much better response to requests like that if they contain something like "And I'll start the thread off with a few of my favourites that I've already tweaked - "

Probably helps if it's for a more popular sim too. Still, I wish you good luck.

The only tweaking that I've needed to do in FSOne is in changing the scale of a model or changing the power plant. I edit the TX settings for almost all models, but that's a different thing.

I don't remember what exactly the tweaks were for any of them, although I might remember one or two details that stand out for a particular model... still there's no point if I don't remember all the details.

In order to pass on the tweaks for a model to someone else I'd have to go back and pick through the edit screens comparing them to the original to make a summary.

So really, probably the reason no one replies is that it's too much bother.

The exception might be is if someone is diligent enough to write down a log of the changes.

The one FSOne 3D plane that I've flown for real (eflite ShowTime) is very well modeled in FSOne... no need for tweaks. From everything I've read and heard, the others are also very well modeled. I'm unable to comment on the foamies however.

i didnt want to offend no body, dont get me wrong i dont want copies of your planes just opinions what fly's real or not. (for example i think the foamys are a little bit nose heavy, just try to put CG a little back and fly much better.
Now that i read the thread i agree i should started better.

the tribute foamy when you scaled to 8oz flys better
the 12 ft tribute foamy is very good to learn to hover
the scaled up funtana planes fly very good

the f22 and the p51 (free downloads from fsone webpage fly like bricks but if you use a higher pitch propeller fly better.

before i finish the post, understand i just wanted opinions and maybe why not a thread were people can post changes they made to their planes/ other sims have endless threads of new or changed planes.

The F22, P51 and Alpha40/60 all have by default the rather unusual 10x4 three paddle trainer prop. The prop is totally unlike a normal 3-blade. It not only has a very small pitch of x4, but also the blades are more like very wide paddles (they do not narrow at all toward the tips). For beginners they give less acceleration and less overall thrust and signfigicantly faster deceleration (for easier landing approaches). Changing to a normal bladed prop (and higher pitch) feels literally like "unshackling" the plane.

I've always thought that FSOne should come by default with a "non trainer prop" variation right in the aircraft selection because people who haven't seen one of those props may not appreciate just how different those props are and then assume that the plane "just flies wierd" or something.

that really explains why they fly so slow.
a few tweaks to the --edge i found interesting
Increase prop size to 27”
Increased rudder and elevator throws
and change the dry weight to 21 lib

A great question to ask on this forum - in the proper manner!

Unfortunately it appears that the folks flying fsone obviously think that they are guarding the secrets of the Ark with some pretty basic information!

If we were talking about the racing secrets of the millennium I could understand folks apprehension to give details to an "outsider" - this is a sim guys - - - that you fly on you PC . . . he's not asking for your first born!

And he is not asking for a free copy of you software or a way to pirate it . . . . .give him a break will ya??

Asking the same question from the AFPD crowd yields a much different response

I had the op to fly FSOne at my local hobby shop and was impressed by the options and the graphics, the "games" mode was pretty cool too. If these sims were a little more reasonable I could get another- but- 200 bucks for a computer game is a little steep to duplicate..

I flew FMS for years and recently purchased AFPD - and love it. Although I loved FMS there a huge difference between the physics APFD and FMS that I would have never believed until I actually started using the sim.

I tried Realflight but it is a resource hog and plays like too much like a video game to me. I am able to run APFD from my laptop on the road if I cut out the aircraft smoke.

I hope folks ante up and cough up some assistance to make your experience with the software a little better. Maybe the folks at FSone can come to the rescue too with an update that incorporates better settings if the stock options are off.

RC Groups is a success because of open communication and mutual assistance!

 As far as I am concerned, there is nothing to hide if tweaks are not necessary. If airplane tweaks were generally a necessity in FSOne then people would tend to write them down and then also share them openly... as people do when there is something to share.

The only discussion on FSOne tweaks that I've ever seen regard the Heli's only.

If someone has made tweaks to FSOne airplanes that they thought were necessary for the planes realism I'd be interested, but I've never seen any posts like that.

I myself can speak more specifically regarding the ShowTime model. The stock fsone ShowTime flies just like the real one. No need to tweak it. I was completely 100% comfortable with the real ShowTime right from flight #1 after preparing in fsone. The maiden flight was a total anticlimax.

Only settings I've played with are TX settings like expo, etc. I've played with CG just to get a good feel for it's nose and tail heavy behaviors.
