Best way to batten your hatches

Hi all,

I am having a mental block here gentelmen. Can someone suggest a creative way to fasten down the top half of a submarine hull without having exposed fasteners on the outside. I was thinking of a snap down type fastener but with a smooth hull surface and nothing to grab on to this might be a little difficult.

Neodymium magnets, and a thin metal plate molded into the hull.:cool:
