Hi Don,

What is the maximum watt and amp ratings for the Wicked Jr 2200kv pusher motor?

I was reading about 15 - 16 amps on a 6x4 on 3s, which got the motor sizzling hot after about 20 seconds (I don't have a temp gauge yet). Is this going to cause problems? I'd like to use this on a Multiplex EasyStar. Aside from my worry about the heat, I am impressed with the amount of push this motor is capable of in such a set-up, though!

Also, how many poles does this motor have?

Thanks!

It is an 8 pole motor. 15-16 amps seems a bit high. What size lipo are you using? also what ESC are you using and what timing setting?

So I took another reading today, and it turns out that it's 15A right at the start, but the amps start dropping to about 13.5 as you run it longer. Timing is on low i think (default setting for most escs, right? i'm using a suppo 40A esc w/o programming). Battery = 3S 2250mAh battery.

It's still freakin' hot though during bench testing. Maybe it'll cool off in actual flight.

That reading is more like it. Also remember when flying the amps drop as well plus you get forced air cooling. You should be just fine.

The Wicked juniors do not have mount included. I typically use a GWS mount for them though.

Don - I bought two of the Jr's from you some time back, but don't remember what application I was going to put them in at the time...

I'm considering using them in a TwinJet though... Do you know of anyone using them in a TJ successfully? Think they'd be OK?

I'm going for a lightweight/sporty setup.

You got the higher KV version correct, not the park pusher? You should be able to get 11-15 oz thrust per motor depending on the prop used. I think that would be good for you.
