Subscribe to thread

Is there a way to subscribe to a thread without adding a comment to the orginial posted thread?

2.) My thread tools only shows how to UNsubscribe to a thread. What's up with that?

Some threads you can subscribe to (kind of like keeping in your favorites list) for easy reference. And yes, some threads only give you the option to UN-subscribe.
