I am very curious to find out why this thread went dead - does anybody know?

Nope, the thread isn't dead - just not updated.
I haven't done much modelling over the past two months but the D500 is painted, needing registration numbers and squadron insignia. I am at the radio installation stage. I've run the motor system on 10X123M1 cells - 14X10 drew 46A. I'll drop it to 13X10.
