Hey don

thanks for the screws, they came yesterday in perfect shape!

I started taking things apart tonight and found that even after loosening the set screw on the front, the bell will not give up the ghost! It has a firm grip on the shaft and I can not get it out.

I tried resting the base in a block of wood with a hole in it for the shaft to go through and gently tapping it with a hammer to no avail. Even put a little heat on it with my industrial heat gun - to no avail... I cant get the sucker to twist or slide.

What is the trick to get the end bell off the shaft

do I reverse the shaft so that the end with the clip is on the endbell outside or just use the set screw to hold it in place.

there was a spacer behind the clip, do I install that on the inside of the motor or leave it out until I switch it back to a rear mounted set up.

I know it is a da group of questions but . . .. .hellllllppppp :D

Sometimes they really cram them in there. I use a bench press to ge them out. You want a W2700 bell reversed right? It may be easier for me to do it then just send it to you. I think I have a few extra bells here. Are you mounting it behind a firewall?

hey don

yes, I am mounting it behind the firewall (hobby lobby beam mount).

I thought that was what I bought when I picked it up but I must have ordered wrong. . either way, the thing just wont come out.

Tried again this am with the wood and the hammer with a little heat but no change, it is good and stuck in there.

WHat is the fee for a new endbell in relation to a new motor .. . I am in a bind, I am putting this in a plane for a building thread and am up against the wall with time...sending it back for a reposition is not feasible at this point.

reality is I should have tried to do this when I first realized it was not positioned correctly :D

I do not thing the park jrs I bought will have enough ommph to push this thing either...and cg will be a big issue in so far as balancing the battery, I nailed the cg and the range is very limited.

Phil

thanks
