Hi,

My mate owns a E-flite airliner (using the Sf fans) and was having problems with the stock motors (e-flite 3500kv motors). i told him about the 4000kv don's motors and bought a set for him.

He installed them last weekend and set the timing (PWM) on his ELERC ESC to 8KHZ.

The problem is that despite the motors pulling 25A and the batteries good (new) it has less power than with the e-flite motors, can anyone help please.

How are you measuing power? Watts? RPM? Do you have a way of measuring RPM onthe old setup? I am not familiar with the ELERC ESC, do you have a link to which ESC he has so I can see the programming features of the ESC?

Hi Don,

Below is the link to the ESC its the 30A one

http://www.budget-rc.co.uk/manuals/ELE%20P%20series%20ESC%20manual.pdf

The measurement were from a watt meter, I don't know the RPM.

That ESC only has PWM setting and no timing adjustment, so I would try one of the other PWM and see if that helps. Otherwise not sure as I have no experience on that ESC. Without knowing the RPM of the old setup and what you are getting now, it is hard to diagnose. If you get an audio recording of the motor/fan running WOT for about 10 seconds, then I can get a rpm from the audio. If you do it for both then we can compare.
