I want to get an aerobatic plane that required 50CC engine. I took a look at Hacker site and they recommend A60 18L W/ 12S 5000 pwr system. Im an Axi guy and I think this motor would be comparable to the Hacker A60.

Doesn any one experience w/ this plane?

What about the pwr system?
What servos would be adequate w/o breaking my $$?

Thanks..

Hey Pete..
I have that very plane and just love it...

here is a link to my conversion from last year:http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=767389&highlight=dietrich+260

I have done some mods to the plane since then..
I went with the neu motor 1521 1.5y geared inrunner with a 24x12 prop
I was getting 4100 watts on high timing but have turned down to low.. about 3700 watts and it flys amazing.. I get 6:30 to 7:00 min. flights.

with my light inrunner settup i had to make a battery tray in the nose.. I cut out the firewall and put the batteries in from the backside.. it works nice..lots of room to put them in.. I have gotten it dwon to 17 pounds by moving things around and taking out lead.. it has no lead now..

I did go with high end JR 8711 all away around...
great plane and good looking ..go for it!!

if you went with a large outrunner you could put the battieres farther back and still add no weight I would think

I bet the AXI 5345 18 on a 24x12 prop would work well

I'm starting a Top Flight giant scale P-51 .. I'm in the same boat as you trying to figure what settup to use in it

I love the Nue motor inrunner but feel that with it's huge torque it may not have the speed I want for a large warbird

I'm thinking 5345-14 21x14 prop.. any thoughts on that? you said your an AXI guy :D

hope this helps you out

Thanks for the reply Ron..

BTW, did you get the decals set w/ that plane? $ 125 for set of decals?? is it made of gold? Dang.....

that Axi for that P51 should be ok.. Im thinking of converting that plane too but to where to put the main batt. would be a problem.

Whats you total set up? Thanks..

Hi Pete,

I did a Rascal 110 tow plane on AXI 5345/14 on 12s 5000. Prop is a APC-E 20x11. Have a look at the thread for more details http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28436

A video...

It will go straight up as long as you like with power to spare. AUW is 6.75Kg

So your around 15 pounds... the glider is what maybe 5 pounds

that great power with 20 pounds of plane.. cool

I pretty sure the Axi 5345-14 is what I'm going to use in my gaint scale mustang.. it will be 25 pounds... I've heard from others that it will fly great

The auw of the gliders can be seen on the video. The DG-600 weights 4.5Kg (9.92 lbs), the Swift 6.5Kg (14.33 lbs) and finally the Toons 12.6Kg (27.78 lbs). The 5345 is quite powerfull ;)

Momma mia...
I didn't see that.. my god AXI is a strong motor
I'm going to order one and try it out , looks like it will pull a 25 pound warbird around with no problem

It's amazing you can pull that kind of weight
good job on that conversion
Thanks for sharing the video
One of those gliders, poor thing looked like a rag doll be ripped off the ground.. :D

My buddy rthorne here on RCGroups has a couple of 5345's for sale, he takes very good care of his gear. You might search for his name in Power Systems FS/W and see if he still has them listed.
