Hello everyone
I would like to know how to bench test brushless motors without pulling the receiver and ESC out of the model. I can do brushed motors easy enough, just supply them with different voltages. But that won't work with brushless. So, is there something that I can build that will do this for me?

Use a servo driver http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6554 or similar and another ESC. Don't forget a wattmeter.

Servo Driver eliminating the need for a receiver during motor measurement (http://www.drivecalc.de/circuits/Servotester.html)

I think the main point is that brushless motors do not work without an ESC. So if you don't pull one out of the model you'll need a spare ESC on the bench to do any testing. As already said it can be driven from a servo driver/tester without needing a Tx/Rx combination.

Thanks for the information. I was thinking that I would have to use an ESC. I will get one of these servo testers aand see it that is what I need. Again, thanks for the info.
