Hi all,
tried a Find in forums function, but didn't get any result.
So.. is it too hard to make something like this?

Hi,
it's not very difficult to build a cell discharger, however you need a lot of parts and a good PCB.

In the past I was thinking to build my own cell discharger but I realised that the project is too expensive.

For an idea of what you need, check out this link:

P.S. Ron, in RC car racing a cell discharger is mandatory, especially with the new type of Ni-Mh cells. If the cell are not well equalized before the charging process they may explode   .

So in your opinion it's better to buy one?

P.S. Batteries could not function well, also.

If you need only one or two units, yes, in my opinion it's better to buy one.

If you want a unit with a variable cut-off thresold the cheapest one is the Lrp/Nosram (actually the same).

If the cut-off thresold is not an issue the cheapest is the new Much More unit (available also for stick pack) :
