Anyone out there have any feedback on this one? It is a design from Daryl Perkins. Looking for a good plane for the slope that will fly in lighter air conditions and it will be flown on a shallow slope.

It is currently available from NSP.

Any help and comments are welcome!!! :)

nuevo had one for several years and he would routinely spec it out. Send him a PM, I'm sure he'll tell you all about it.

I have had one for several years. It is a great light lift sailplane easy to speck out and can fly on the lightest lift on the slope. It is an older design but still a fun and easy ship to fly. But It only has one speed range and that is fairly slow. . You can't camber up effectively and run to get out of sink. Save up your money and get a Shadow or any of the latest ships and you will be much happier. Just for the record, I crashed my Shadow (Shot :censored: down) and will be flying my Fusion at Visalia this year! Still gonna kick  ! :D

I might be a little biased, but any decent TD glider will work light slope lift well. I probably have more time on slopes with a Fusion than flat land time. I used to fly one at a very light lift slope near my house in Chino Hills, near the water tower. I think they've since built a house there... Of course, I spent most of the time behind the hill thermalling....

I used to slope all my TD models either there, or at Temple in Pomona. I enjoy sloping TD models. It's fun to thermal around behind the hill - it freaks your friends out.

Just read Bill's response. I'm not real sure about his concerns about it being a 1 speed model. My Visalia winning Fusion weighed 59 ounces. With the sections of yesteryear, you had to be a little more decisive and drive the model around the sky if you needed to get somewhere. Of course, it's over a pound lighter than most of the models of today. Ballast it up to 80 ounces like a Shadow, and you'll haul a@@ around the sky just fine. I used to carry 1 and 2 lb slugs with me at all times for sloping. I get bored flying dry....

The section is a popular JW section used on one of the most popular of US molded TD models. it's about 8.5% thick, and 2.36% camber if I remember correctly.

Bagged models are also easier to fix once you tag those rocks...

Btw - I don't receive any royalties or benefit from a sale from NSP in any way.

But like I say, any good TD model will make a good light lift sloper

You might have a long wait trying to get a Fusion from NSP. Last I heard they hadn't delivered one in almost 2 years ! Same is true for all of their "bagged wing" planes.
Try Soaring USA,you can get an Onyx-L for $850 or as a previous poster mentioned a Shadow

One year ago NSP told me they'd have me a 2M Laser in 2 months, let's see 12 - 2 = ..... I understand they no longer have a wing builder. Just ask if the item is in stock or not, that will tell you what to do.

Yeah, I'm not so sure that the Fusion is really "available" from NSP...

To the guy asking for the Fusion pannel, I think somebody recently started bagging wings and selling just the wings for these '90s style 2 piece wing models. I want to say the guy is somewhere in the midwest.

Dan Borer does them in So Cal. His website is http://www.tdwings.com/wings.htm

That is it. Dan is the dude I was thinking of. For some reason I thought he was in the midwest.

I still suggest that the thread starter post a pic of the damaged wing though. No reason not to get that one going again, if nothing else to serve as a backup.
