Hi. My boat turns on a dime in one direction, but turning power in the other direction is very weak. Throws on the rudder seem even.
Any ideas are appreciated.

It has something to do with the propeller spinning in one direction. Does it turn better when you go right?? That will be because the prop spins in an anticlockwise direction, when you turn, the torque from the prop will tend to let the rear of the boat "pull" around a lot faster than if you are going back the other way where it is basically pushing against the way that the prop naturally wants to go/walk.
If you have a surface drive setup with an offset rudder, it is a fact of life and we deal with it which is why most FE courses are a clockwise circuit. You can improve the left turn by putting the rudder inline with the prop.

hi you don't say weather its single or twin shaft?
if its twin check that you have not wired the motors up the same if you have swop the connections over on one of the motors this should go a long way into helping you ster a steady course
