Is saltwater out of the question with rc modeling?

Will it ruin everything?

Thanks

Saltwater is no problem, as long as you flush your running gear with fresh water before storing.

Use all the stainless and brass parts you can find for your boat.

What is this fresh water that people talk about? The pools around here are all part of the sea defences, and filled from the sea, thus a mixture of salt and silt. Sailing on open water, i.e. the sea or estuary, is a different story, as there are currents and life size waves. Just make sure that exposed metal is brass or stainless (solid, not plated, been there) and ensure that the works can be serviced.

i run my nitro boats in salt water all the time...i always wash them fully inside and out with fresh water..also flush the cooling sytem and sray on some protective lubricant ....and you will be fine ..also make sure you grease the drive shaft alot too..

Excellent. Thanks.

I'm researching a design that can handle rough, pounding surf. My goal is to make a camera ship that can get into tight spots that water photographers wouldn't care to enter.
