Hi
Just a few lines to introduce myself, Names John and I am from the UK, have been interested in model boats for quite a while now, well over 40 years anyway, My main interests are old type, Aerokits, Veron and similar type wooden models. It is a Aerokits Swordsman model that I am working on at the moment.
I have just purchased it from Ebay (UK) and intend to restore it, its in quite a mess. I am looking for a copy of an original Aerokits plan for this model, I do have other Swordman plans but really could do with a original one,
I belive you chaps would call it a Dumpster model?
Anyway if anyone can help, I have put a similar request on a UK site as well. Clearly I would cover costs or maybe we could swap for another plan ?
If any one is interested I will to a rebuild thread here.
I have I think .. posted a few pictures for you to have a look/laugh at.
Cheers John.

If you have no luck with the British site (Mayhem?) then try asking here... http://modelfireboats.com/

If i remember rightly, the Aerokits range of plans are still available through Lesro Models http://www.lesromodels.co.uk/ even though there are no boats mentioned on their website.
They have the rights to the plans from Aerokits, though i dont know about the Swordsman...

Please post pics as you do the re-build!

John,

Welcome aboard, I too am keen on the old Aerokits !
If you need any tips on the restoration, Model Boats (UK) mag is doing a 4 part restore on an Aerokits Sea Urchin. The model's construction all seem pretty similar so what you learn there may equally apply to yours.
See P52 of the Sept issue

Welcome to the forum, John. Glad to have you with us.
I would like to see you share pictures of your rebuild of this model. It will be good to see her run again. Be careful about throwing old parts away; use them as patterns to make new parts. But you already knew that. Good luck in saving a nice one, John.
