This seems to be a very promising application of noncombat UAVs. This technology could be scaled to many scientific or medical uses, ironically in the least developed areas of the world. The idea of getting antivenom dropped right to you in the middle of nowhere before conventional medevac even gets moving is very cool. I hope it is reliable enough to be a great success - that would do a lot to promote the idea of UAVs as a practical solution and benefit the perception of RC aircraft in general. Then maybe we could finally overcome the fear and stigma that razorblade edged flying wings created.

All roads seem to lead to flying wings. They're the most compact, most efficient, cheapest way to move around. They won't be autonomously saving lives in U Know Where of course.

Yeah its a great idea, lets hope our CAA does not jump up and down too much though. Seems the magic word Denel is there, the nations arms company, so things probably will be smooth.

Necessity is the mother of invention though!

Theres lots of things small UAV's could do in Africa because a first world infrastructure is just not there to move things quickly by surface.

Good for them for making something that has been demonstrated to work.
