Hello,

Im sorta new to nitro powered rc boats, but i have a bunch of nitro cars...finding a place to drive the cars isnt a big deal...but finding a place to run my boat when im not at the shore is a problem for me...

I am just wondering if anyone from my area knows any good spots or if anyone knows of a good directory where you can search for good places to run rc boats..
I know of a few ponds and lakes in my area but they all are terrible for running rc boats...most are pretty shallow with weeds ect ect coming out of the surface in the summer time...i know of some other lakes i havent tried yet but they are pretty far (40 mins) from my area...i sometimes use my friends private pond on his property but its tough to get close to the water to launch and retreive the boats becasue of the steep inclines all around the edge of the pond...
the other day i spent almost 3 hrs driving around to ponds that i knew of off the top of my head only to find that most of them are too shallow or have too many lilly pads or weeds in them

So can anyone help me out it would be appreciated...
thanks
Anthony

Here's a link to the NAMBA District 1 site which covers NJ:

http://www.namba-1.com/

There are two ponds listed in north NJ where they race. Contact the people listed to see if maybe there are other more local ponds where people run when not racing.

Wow not to many lakes . I'm in the same boat . I'm in Toms River NJ and really don't know of any lakes close to me that i could run in with out a hassle.

:) WELCOME TO THE CLUB-that is why I have all my gas and nitro boats up for sale here in Long Branch,NJ. I am not going to spend half my run time driving to some lake out in the boonies to run my gas boats. Have gone back to scale electrics and I can run almost any where. :)

yeah..i dont mind running the boat in salt water..which i do when im down the shore in the summer...now that summer is ending i am not down there as much so i need to fuind a good lake to run in....i have found a few ponds but they are sketchy...so far my friends private pond seems to be the best...
it takes alittle more cleaning for salt water but im used to it with my real boats...
plus you would never be able to tell that my boats were run in salt...but anyway i thought there were much more lakes near the shore like near long branch...maybe in belmar or that area..i know they have a few nice lakes close to the ocean...

The Nationals were held near Toms River a few years ago. www.NAMBA-1.com can definitely help you out. There are a LOT of boaters in NJ, everything from scale warships (Task Force 50 has NJ members), to nitro & gas racing to the best stuff -- fast electrics.
