Decided that I really did like the Stratus Fear body that Losi sent
with the XXX kit, even though it didn't have overspray film, so I
threw some paint at it last night and this is what happened:

http://home.swbell.net/lt1_z28/stratusfear.jpg

Fascent Purple (love that color) fading to pearl black, undercoated
with Pactra white. I figured out a system now. Paint the colors with
acrylic on the first day, let it cure inside overnight, then undercoat
it with lacquer in a rattlecan and let that cure overnight. Seems to
work very well. The lacquer is hard enough to resist most scratches
and the acrylic is easy to spray and the colors look better than
lacquer (IMHO).

Also made a kydex bumper reinforcement plate:

put on some threaded shocks:

and went from a 20t to a 23t pinion. Could probably stand to go to a
25t since the ESC is only getting a little warm and the battery and
motor are barely over ambient temp. However, I think I'll just stick
with the 23t for now since, if the stars align right, I might be
picking up the big, evil D5 8 turn single wind and Novak GT7 this
week. I have a feeling I'll have to get another set of wheels and some
belted tires, too...

Thanks, and already ditched it and the motor in favor of a Novak
Dually and Trinity D5 8t single :)
