Hello all,
A few of us are amateur RC enthusiasts, and we want to make an autonomous helicopter for our EE senior project.
We are looking at the quadrotor style craft. The general consensus is that the craft would be very basic and completely autonomous, without any interaction with a remote computer nor radio; no communication. It would only fly a pre-programmed task, while be auto-pilotted for stability.
This is where we need advice:
What is the best way to attempt this, from your guys' perspective?
We are to obviously have 4 (probably brushless) motors, their speed controls, intertial sensors (accelerometers), and a PIC (small computer) to receive the sensors' data and make the correct adjustment to keep the craft stable. On top of that, there would be a pre-programmed flight in the computer.
What pieces of equipment do you guys recommend? We were looking at Gumstix, and Quadroufo.com...
Thanks so much for any advice!
