Well, it's been ready to fly for 9 days and weather and real life have just been in the way. Here's a short video of the first two flights. The SSX Trainer flies very nicely. I was very pleased. Thanks, James, for a great mod.
I do have a problem with intermittent power loss. I have a wattmeter on order that should arrive Tuesday. Hopefully, that will help me diagnose the problem.

Great video, it looks like it flies great. Is this your first aileron bird? It was my first, after the crash I have been flying my SSX, while rebuilding the trainer.

It looked like you were fighting to keep the nose up. When you lost power, it should have glided rite in. My guess is that you are nose heavy.

James, you were right. I moved the cg back about 1/4 inch and it flew great this morning.
The motor cutoff problem turned out to be a problem with the prop saver and/or my installation of it on the shaft. I haven't had a cutoff since taking the prop saver off and putting a prop directly on the shaft.
