I just finished my 1/10 electric buggy project....hoping to run it...
(more photos from my other thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=914627&referrerid=163437) -- or here: http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/ll291/1carrotcake/Lazer%20ZX-5%20Reborn/
Maybe I haven't searched hard enough but I can't really find a good place with nice dirt/gravel ground to run my buggy. I usually look in parks/schools but it's basically grass ...nothing like a nice open dirt ground.
And I can't seem to find any Off road tracks in the GTA, I have heard vaguely they might have a track in Brampton or Pickering or something..nothing within the GTA. I live in Markham and I would expect to have somewhere I can really run my off-road buggy in that area or in the Richmond Hill area because there are a lot of constructions going on in these areas. But then most of the construction sites are restricted or not idea to run (i.e. too much poles..etc obstacles on the ground - Dangerous too I guess)
So really can any Torontorian RC Fans tell me where can I run my off road buggy and truck in the GTA? Any Clubs/Groups? Even just for bashing! Much appreciated! Thanks!!! Do we have any Electric Off-Road Fans in Toronto ??? come on I must not be the only one!

Too much time on my hands today (friday long weekend here) - made a slideshow video of my new project: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=WYjaaC47Cm4
by the way, any off-Road Electric powered fans from Canada - Markham/Toronto/GTA? ( bah doubt it...seems like I"m all alone in Toronto that bother to care about 1/10 electric off road )

Hey, I live in Brampton and there's this great place which has mostly dirt and some weeds in it. It right in front of my house 'cause in weekdays they dig there because they are building a school there. It's a really big open space and i sometimes drive my cars or fly rc planes on weekends there.

Hey Zett, there are alwasy people there at the school I mentioned above....damn it!!!!!...hehehe maybe I will come over to Brampton ehehe but then again I heard of the "Sids" race track there in Brampton......so if I head to that way I might as well head to the track and test my new tricked buggy :)
do you race or goto the race track(s)? know of any clubs/tracks?
BTW, some say that the holes on the bullet body are too big...and dirt might be an issue.....tho i test run my buggy in sand and dirt areas and luckily this wasn't a big issue but I still think this is most likely going to be a problem in the future.....any suggestion to fix this? I did order a new SP body (not the bullet one this time)..but then this Bullet body is pretty nice and new...hm.....

No, sorry I don't know much about tracks or clubs, I'm just a amateur in off-road rc, I only have some $30 tyco rc stuff. I'm mostly into rc planes. But always look around for construction sites on the weekend, that'll be your best choice...

Thanks, I think i've heard of that place. Pretty pricey to do a run , I think it's like $20 bucks a day. It's located in Mississauga right? A little far from where I live in Markha, the current gas price doesn't help neither :( but myabe someday i will get a chance to go there with like 10 fully charged LIPOs. )
Tho...Thanks again for the input ! Cheers

also you can cover the holes with strips of clear plastic like the kind you see in some packaging where the box has plastic on it to let you see whats inside.

Nice Heli! I'm in Markham :( but I may come by brampton sometimes coz my uncle lives there.
I am into 1/10 electric Off-Road but since there ain't much dirt ground I can find..I usually run my off-roady buggy on road anyway. I don't like grass........

I live near Bramlea and Father tobin. Yes, i fly helis, but indoor ones, such as the Twin Thunder. I have a couple of outdoor planes. And I'm only 12...
Ya, i have some really cool big onroad cars like the replica mini car.

This is the new pro-line body for the lazer zx-5, fits perfect and actually taller than the Kyosho ones, much more room to work inside and space for the motor/heatsink and battery.
New servo - I'm currently using the Ace R/C DS1313 Super Torque Digital Servo, I would recommend this for anyone using a 1/8 or 1/10 scale r/c car.

Had a couple of test runs of my Lazer ZX-5 at full speed last night, ran into a little wooden box (4 cm X 4 cm X 4 cm) that some kids left behind on the street. And broke/"snapped" my front bumper. At first I didn't notice as the car was driving normal but as I bring the car back I saw something missing in the front..yes it was the front bumper! Thank god it's the bumper...otherwise I could've broke many other things at the front which will cost me more money and TIME (for shipping) to put my car back on the road.
The bumpers I bought have a life time warranty of 3 replacements no questions asked. Just send them the photo of the broken bumper and get one back for free (no shipping fee too)
Here are some pictures...it was a clean snap...it took most of the force....the Bumpers (front / rear) are made of Derlin.
Now I know why people can have their cars "Total Lost" if they run into something at high speed. Imagine I only ran into a little wooden box (it was made of cheap scrap wood too and thin in made..very light duty). Well but one might argue that my bumper sucks....but I can say, with the Stock bumper..this would've been worst.

Just got my new Lazser ZX-5 T bone racing bumper replacement! Now my Lazer ZX-5 is back in Business! I am not sure if someone suggested here in this thread or some other thread but I AM using the 3racing titamium Turnbuckles now and it's working GREAT! Very durable - oh man I really want to say it can compare to the lunsford ones but....I know there are alot of hardcore lunsford fans here so I better hush and keep this to myself (I really think the 3racing ones are very strong titanium turnbuckles and 90% quality as the lunsford ones, if not more , being conservative here) I crashed a lot since the new bumper and everything is still holding out very very well.
The new T-Bone "N" series bumper for my ZX-5 is much more durable and fits MUCH BETTER!!!
I just saw on the T-Bone racing page, their latest product is the all new "Pro Racing" series JUST FOR the Lazer ZX-5 ---- > for now (I think) - oh they have posted some of my older Lazer ZX-5 pics on their website....you may see them if you goto the site....so yeah..that's my pearl orange Lazer ZX-5 there....they spelled my last name wrong but oh well...
for 9.95 US you get this pro racer set (front and rear) for the Lazer ZX-5... My fellow Lazer ZX-5 fans...check them out if you have the time http://t-bone-rc.tripod.com/proracersets.html this pro racing series are for track racers obviously where they may have restrictions on bumpers you can install on ur buggy so the bumpers are "smaller" but still provide protection to your buggy (so that's why it's cheaper than the regular Lazer ZX-5 bumper set like around 25$ for front and rear)

This is still in progress...but almost ready to go (actually I have ran it already - had to adjust the slipper clutch) - I am just trying to find a motor heat sink / fan and carbon battery strap for it... someone borrowed my camera...these pictures are from a 8 years old Digital camera :( will post better pics in the future....
This B44 is a lot different than my Lazer ZX-5, handles and feels different.
