Hey,
I ordered a mini telemaster and some other items from hobby lobby as a birthday present for my cousin. I was ordering a lot of stuff at the time from various suppliers, and this order was what I needed most of all of them. I chose standard shipping, as they say they'll try and send all orders out in 24 hours and I knew I had a week left. Now, 7 days later, it still hasnt been sent off. It wont get here by tommorrow, obviously, so it'll miss the birthday. I called hobby lobby yesterday, asking if I could upgrade the shipping to get it on time, but apparently it was going to leave in a few hours, and it was too late to do anything. Its nothing terrible, but its just rather disappointing. Hobby city's order already arrived, and I placed that a day later. Now it'll miss the weekend, an since school will start on monday, my cousin won't have any time to build it. Is hobby lobby usually like this, or are they mostly pretty fast? I know that they have been inventoring, but still, seven days just to pack a few items in a box and give that to ups? Has anyone else had any problems like this?

What is going on with Hobby Lobby? I have NEVER had a problem before . I also placed an order on Sunday- Just a few small parts, about $40 worth. I expected them to be here so I could make some building progress this weekend. I just TODAY got an email saying the order was being shipped. ONE WEEK to ship something? This weekend is now lost for me... I can't sheet my wing until my servo mounts arrive !! I am going to call them tomorrow.

I read in another thread they gave a guy free overnight shipping and a 20% discount on his next order since it had not shipped yet. I got no such deal when I called !

My plan was to order the stuff last weekend so I would have it to build this weekend. Looks like the new shipping software has some issues.

Exactly, I though I would at the latest get it this weekend if I ordered it last week. Not only did I not get a discount or free fast shipping, but when I asked if I could pay for one my self, they said it was too late since to change it. yayyyyyyyy [/sarcasm]

To everyone here, my apologies. Hobby-Lobby has traditionally shipped very fast and we are headed back to tradition.
In the two weeks we have completed the installation of a brand new warehouse computer system that should double our speed - except this week in didn't. Our shipping team has been pulling twelve hour days for two weeks in a row. Most of the kinks are now worked out. We are almost caught up and plan on NEVER getting behind again.
If you have any particular shipments you need a status check on you and PM me (Jay Graves) for Jason (flyboone) and we will track them down for you.
We do not exist without our great customers. I accept responsibility and Hobby-Lobby will continue to work hard earn/re-earn your business.

You are correct - I should have included this as a contact option as well. We answer hundreds of calls every day. As I've said before we aren't perfect but we are trying to be. We understand that everyone at Hobby-Lobby is accountable to our customers regardless of what method they use to contact us.
All feedback is welcome. We learn from the good and bad.

Here it is, 1 full week later, my order still has not arrived. I'm only 1 state away. Slightly aggravated as my project is on hold until I get my servo mounts. Yes, it's a small order, but I cannot start sheeting my wing until I have the mounts in hand. Hopefully they will be here tomorrow, I got a priority mail shipping confirmation on Friday.

I placed an order for a LJS motor last month. Took two weeks to get it
What really chaps my rear end is the 4x4x4 shipping they advertise. If the order fits in a 4x4x4 box the shipping is reduced. When you check out it shows the full $8 shipping but states "Don't worry, you will be billed the lower rate on you CC". Not. This is the second time I pushed the special button for lower shipping or the 10% off one item and not got it. Called a couple of times to question the charge errors and after being on hold one time for over 10 minutes, the other time I was promised a call back which I never received,
I gave up on Hobby Lobby. Service is life for a business. Hobby Lobby's life blood has run out on my business.

Nut

Hobby lobby is on the top of my list of hobby stores, but I placed an order (one item) with Tower hobbies on the evening of august 19, order shipped august 20, received on August 23, so I know Tower isn't slow right now. But I agree with you, don't give up on hobby-lobby.

After a few PM's back and forth with Jay, I must say he is a stand up guy. I'll not give up yet. They will get an opportunity on my next purchase. I hope they do not let me down.

Right. Time for an update on my story.
On Saturday, 8 days after I placed the order, I called hobby lobby again. The guy was really nice an apologetic, didn't know why it was stuck, so he upgraded the shipping to overnight for free, and canceled the order and placed it again. He said it would be sent out Monday and it would get here Tuesday. So far, so good.
On Monday, I got emails confirming the new order, as well as it being shipped. I couldn't wait.
Today is Tuesday. I had an alrightish day in my new school. I don't know anyone there. I spent most of the day looking forwards to coming home and getting the parts I needed so I could finally fly a bit again, as well as getting the birthday gift and handing that over to my cousin, even if it had missed the birthday by 3 days.
I got home. No package. I tracked the package on the FedEx website. All it said was "billing information received". I guessed that FedEx just didn't scan it right, that the package was actually sent but I just couldn't track it. I called them to make sure. They told me that they got the data, but no package.
At this point, I'm extremely disappointed. I called hobby lobby. I told the guy the story. He was pretty nice, but concluded he had no idea what happened, and would cancel and replace the order...for THE THIRD TIME.
Well, there's a chance that it will be sent off today and I'll get it tomorrow. There's a chance it will be sent off tomorrow and I'll get it the day after.
There's a chance it wont be sent off at all and I'll have the same problem.
Needless to say, I'm really disappointed.

Came home yesterday expecting to see my order on the porch. Nothing.
Today is the 8th business day since I placed the order. I'm one state away. I will still do business with Hobby-Lobby but I'm VERY dissapointed, and don't understand how or why this could have even happened in the first place....
I can't make ANY more progress on my plane until these parts arrive.

After my PM to Jay over the past weekend, I was told that my situation would be handled. My order date was Aug 17th and by Aug 22 I still had no idea what was going on. My order was upgraded to Fedex overnight, it was shipped on Monday and I did finally receive it on Tuesday. I still ended up with 2 items that were in stock when I ordered that were in backordered status, so I still have to wait and hope for those.

I did get my parts today but I had some issues. When I took the fuselage out and found to my surprise that what I ordered:
ST11802 FUSELAGE FOR "BLUE ANGELS"
Is really only the rear of the fuselage. I went back to the Hobbly lobby website and they now list the parts as follows:
ST11802 Spare Rear Fuselage for F/A-18
ST11802 Spare Front Fuselage for F/A-18
At the time I placed the order there was no "front or rear" option it was listed as "FUSELAGE FOR "BLUE ANGELS" and that is how my order reads and that is what I expected an entire fuselage, not just a rear. Also the one exit nozzle is damaged and when I called today I was told to go to the website to fill out a support ticket then they will send me a label to return the fuselage then they will send me a new one, why could they not start that over the phone? I expect that to take a week to get the label, then 2-3 weeks to get a replacement fuselage sent (based on previous experence). I am feeling a bit frustrated. Then I wnet and checked my credit card accout and I was charged for shipping and my order says right on it "free ground shipping on orders over $25".
Hobby Lobby please help me out.

I have only placed two orders with HL, but I have had good experiences with them. Every company has various issues that affect their service, but it is the people make the difference. In my experience with my orders and other online conversations with the guys, they are SUPER.
Sorry your orders were late. I try to stay on top anything I order whether it is from Hobby Lobby or some place else. If they don't ship when expected, I call or email and find out why. It normally gets the ball rolling.
It does stink when things drag out.
