Any Sailplane clubs in or near Charlotte, NC???

I ask because we may be relocating to Charlotte by 2009. Just would like to know if there are any sailplane clubs there or nearby.

When you get to Charlotte, try to get down to the HobbyTown in Pineville and let me know if Crazy Dave still owns it. He was great! I used to come in and find him flying a radio control blimp around the shop! I've still got a couple of plastic kits he gave me when I moved away. That was a great town!

There really isnt a club but there are a few of us. Bob Whitney and myself have 3 meter stuff and there are quite a few DLG guys around.

We would be glad to have you. There are a few others too over in Waxhaw and S. Charlotte we just need to organize a little

Ya gotta PM me your address so I can google earth ya. We saw some really nice neighborhoods in Jamestown, over by High Point. Also saw some nice properties on the internet north and just east of PTI....how's that area in real life?
