Searchlight

Hello. I want to build a searchlight for my gws dragonfly, a 10mm led controlled remotely. How can I do that?

Are you saying that you want to build a searchlight that pans, tilts, etc.? If so, do you want to control it remotely or just make it move?

No, I just want to build a searchlight that turn on and off with a channel of my radio.

Ah. Well, in that case, you'll probably want to source some LEDs, if you haven't already. eBay is a surprisingly good place to buy them; you can get 100 white LEDs with resistors for about ten bucks shipped.

After that, you just need a power source and a switch. I used the PicoSwitch from Dimension Engineering and took 5V from a servo connector on my receiver. At that point it's a pretty simple circuit.

You can also use an old servo as a switch(like in the other thread). Just remove the servo motor and connect the LED with a series current limiting resistor where the motor used to go.
