My local model shop tells me that REVELL are to bring out a target for their 1/72 scale Flower Class Corvette! As I'm building the latter at the moment, I've already got mine on order.

Apparently it will be a 1/72 WW2 German U-boat. A static model, I would expect it to be relatively easily converted to a working surface model in the same way as the corvette, but possibly convertible to underwater operation?

Anyone else heard or know anything of this?

The smaller water-tight cylinders here may fit the new boat, we'll have to wait for it's release before we know for sure. A WTC will give you a diving r/c sub when used in a static display model! Bookmark for future reference:

I've done as you suggest, and bookmarked it.
If it's suitable for 1/96th scale, there should be little or no problem in a 1/72. Look forward to the release date to investigate further.

Anybody made this conversion yet? I saw this model at the LHS today and it does look impressive. Surely though, there is an easy way to make your own WTC rather than pay $275!! Someone else done that yet? :)

Tony, Our local HS got 4 of the new Revel kits last week---they look GOOD. Someone who knows what they're doing shouldn't have a problem converting this one.

There are a couple of companies making photo-etched sets for the Revell Typ VII. I've seen the pics online. Very impressive.
