Just wanted to get the opinions of folks here on RCG. Been away from the site a little lately however wanted to get a few opinions. Have designed and been building several of these fiberglass hulls from molds that I've built. Been selling to RCU people and locally to hobby shops. What do you guys here think?

Some measurements...

Prices are starting around $395 for a completely painted hull in a basecoat/clearcoat auto paint with 3 layers of clearcoat. RTR versions are also available with several references I could give you.

Hulls as you can see are completely seamless, no shoebox or lip joint here, very smooth.

I've been working with fiberglass for over 13 years and painting for longer than that doing mostly custom hotrod cars and trucks. There are no dissapointments.

Love the bahama blue pearl color, but mostly lines of the hull. Would prob. look killer in candy apple red. Just my opinion. :D

Here are a few pictures of the latest. This time it's mine and will be used for pictures and videos on my new website. If anybody is curious, I have a lengthy build thread from the molds to installing a complete WHH hardware package on rcuniverse.com

Pretty looking hulls. Is 50" the only size you mold? How many layers of glass do you use and what is the final mil thickness after cure? What kind of warranty do you offer on the glass? I too like the blue one. The hull it's self has very sleak looking lines to it, I like that. It looks alot like my Aeromarine Challenger. I've got a still in the box Zenoah 26cc waiting for a new build so I may be interested. :)

So far I only currently have the 50 incher. 2 additional hulls in the works as plugs for new molds, a race V and a catamaran. Don't expect to see these untill next summer. I use 2 layers of glass, one of either .75 or 1.5oz mat followed by another layer of 6oz cloth. Very strong and lightweight layup since they are both applied while still wet. As far as a warranty, well, due to the construction, she is very strong and solid by design. What type of warranty are you speaking about?

Just thought a new website might answer the many questions I usually get.

Due to a recent discovery of one of my hulls being used in a ripped off trade deal http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1035669

Long story short, hull was stolen from one of my customers through some sort of trade deal, details are not important. This upset so much it actually motivated me to build one in the colors of the one stolen, with minor modifications. This is my favorite color, Bahama Blue Pearl Metallic. This will be on Ebay shortly, but wanted to share this with members since I think the thread was locked.

Nice work!!
and thank you for adding the step by step process!
would like a close up pic of the rear transom from the inside, is it reinforced with wood?

I'm in to Tunnel Hull & Hydro's w/outboards engines, but most seen to lack reinforcement in the rear, I have re-done mine using spruce or brich 5 ply w/ 1/16 alum. plate, I also drill the bolt hole and fill them with epoxy resin, to prevent water from soaking in the wood.

Good Luck on your growing bussiness.

Thanks for showing us your Great talent :)

Take Care,

If you refer back to pictures posted early in this thread, you will see that 1/4" 5 ply wood is used to reinforce the transom area. All my builds use this system. I mix up a fine cut fiberglass/resin bog and butter it on both sides of the mating surfaces of the wood and transom areas to ensure a very solid joint before clamping it together. If you look at my website you will see a very detailed description on exactly how every Dreamin' hull is built.

Dreamin' Hemi , have you ever made a Tunnel Hull for anyone?

Never made one, but almost had my hands on the molds for a gasoline sized tunnel last month. Great Ebay deal that I missed with my online service being down for about an hour! Keeping busy building the molds for an almost 50" catamaran. There is a lengthy build thread in the gas boat forums of RCU right now. Who knows, we have another Skater cat in the works for the not so distant future, I suppose a tunnel isn't out of the question. Problem is just don't have the time to design these things also.
