I am looking for some techical information on converting a Circus Trainer 40 over to Electric as a project this winter. I have the kit, still in the box i got around 17 years ago. Circus is no longer around, that I can tell, to even provide any info on the model as far as stats.
If anyone knows of a thread that may be simular to my project, please post links if handy.
Mostly looking for information to keep me from buying a lot of the wrong stuff. :D
Thanks in advance
Ron

Here's a older article that might give your some assistance: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264085 .
NiMh are still a good option; check out the NextStar EP.
I Now fly my good ole American Flyer via A123-4S; the Eagle would easily fly with the same pack off a smooth surface -- off grass I do 5S.
An outrunner with a bit less Kv would be a good choice these days too.
Search on me and A123 to lern more about their fast recharge capability.
BOL!

Thanks jrb, this is going to be great information.
Are any of these conversions being done with Brushless and Lipo. I somehow skipped from Glo K&B 40 twenty years ago and came back into the hobby with Brushless, I missed all the brushed, 6 packs, and gear boxes. Wait.... I had a Gental Lady with a big Gold Fire Motor and a "On Off" switch attached to the throttle servo <no esc> and I think a 7 cell NC battery. I still have that motor and switch. :D
That was one of those memories that pops in your head and you chuckle right away. Needless to say, that was a scary one time flight.
Anyway, I will continue reading these threads for now.
