Any one ever thought about using a $15-$20 inflatable boat for a hover craft base. Maybe remove the handles and lay a solid platform on top there are so many thing you can do. I think nitro motors would be more ideal for propulsion . i have 3 laying around .15 .20 .40 think it might work.

One question will hovercrafts work on dry sand and would it also work it the sand was uneven. I think the inflatable boat converted to HC would work well because of it size and hight. The material they use it i think more ridge so it should be very stable for it hight.

Certainly seems like it would work, would be a lot easier than making the skirt yourself!

this could work but it would not give the flexability of a normal skirt so it would be more like a jet skirt same as the SRN1. How big would it be though as i have only seen big inflatble boats 2metres etc.see http://www.jameshovercraft.co.uk/hover/images/craft/srn1/BHCSRN1.jpg
