Hi Guys...
Well I have sold some stuff (mini slider, brushless kit, other random rc stuff) to hopefully bank enough paypal credit to get a hovercraft kit!
Now the question is which one is the best?
I definately like speed but would like it to have the ability to cover some non smooth surface ground. I looked into the Scamper and it looks nice, with a good brushless motor for speed. It also appears to handle smooth water with ease. It needs to be fairly durable.
Are there any other "sport" kits that you might suggest? I would really prefer something with more performance than the "scale" ones I have seen. and definately want to stay electric, I do NOT do nitro anything!
Thanks in advance!!

Can I suggest the Axon Razorback? I'm lowering the price a little bit - if you want something with alot of speed. Its not a watercraft but can handle puddles and rain no problem. How rough of a surface is it you'd be using it on? Its extremely durable, priced about the same as the scamper. (but comes fully assembled)

I saw those and they look awesome! The only thing I have noticed in the videos is that I havent seen it in any grass...only smooth surfaces, and I did want the capability of possibly running on water as my Wife's father has a lake house which I would have a chance to run but it isnt neccessary.
How do those crafts of yours run on short grass?

in realiy not many hovercraft will go on grass there not enough power so a lot of the air escapes betwen the grass bowling green grass is great but very short and only small areas evan my SRN6 twin prop does not like long grass anything more than an inch or so

HRMM...
Not what I wanted to hear...The Scamper's video seemed to do fairly well...maybe it was just an illusion.

I've not tried the scamper on grass before (and haven't put together my kit)
but on very short cut grass the razorback with the upgraded motor, you can move around a bit. I haven't tried it on astroturf but I imagine it would be fine.
I'll be working on the water "skirt" for the Axon Razorback soon.
As much as I hate dealing with skirts everyone seems to want this thing to work on water....

To be honest except for the axon racer i have not seen any videos of kits with amazing performance. But the axon is not for you if you want water performance. So if you are looking for any performance you are either going to have buy a kit and experiment with upgrades suck as bl motors and lipos or build from scratch (which is the fun way. . . .well at least for me). The scamper looks pretty good but i heard that the video was edited to make it look faster than it really was. Dont take my word for it though.

the video of the scamper claims 35mph. I have a really hard time believing that it does 35mph - especially knowing how fast 35mph is on Radar. I have to put together that kit and radar it. I just don't want to spend the 8 hours screwing in all the 100s of screws!

scamper doesn't like grass at all. Runs well on tarmac/concrete and water. Great fun.
Pretty sure there is a grifon made in the uk?
