I just recently jumped on the iPhone bandwagon, so I no longer need my old trusty SmartPhone. I'm putting it up here, because I have found the folks here much easier to do business with and I hate paying fees on eBay.
The phone is 2 years old and has worked very well for me for the time I've had it. Because it is Palm-based, there are TONS of applications out there that you can load on it, and most are FREE! If you are already an AT&T customer, then all you will have to do is pop in your Sim card and you are ready to use it! If you are not an existing AT&T customer, then you will have to pull down an "unlocking" program from the net to make it work. If you are a Pay As You Go customer with a GoPhone, it should also work (at least it did with the Sim from my son's phone).
If you are not familiar with the Treo series, you can take pictures and store them on the phone, email them, send them via SMS, or sync them to you computer. You can listen to music, watch movies (additional software required), search the internet, and so on. I am also a fan of this phone's text message functionality. It treats SMS as Yahoo messenger does where you can do emoticons, and the conversations are all kept together, per person, just like you get with the computer-based applications.
Since purchased Palm-based applications rely on the phone's "name" (which is assigned when you set up the desktop software and hot-sync for the first time) if you name your phone "Treo", then you will be able to use the applications that I have previously purchased and registered. Below is the list of apps that I will be including:
VolumeCare ($19.95) - An app to increase the volume settings - a must for a Treo!
BackUp Buddy ($24.95) - An app that allows you to automatically back up all of your data to an SD card (not included) so that you never lose data and never have to sync to your computer again, if you choose not to.
UltraSoft CheckBook ($19.95) - Allows you to monitor your bank accounts. I never recorded a check in my register - I did it all on the Treo!
SplashID ($29.95) - The handiest app of all. You can store all of your personal information, including usernames, passwords, medications, anniversaries, birthdays, credit card numbers, etc.
Ringtones - Hundreds of them included on the disk I burned with the apps!!
Included in this package are the following items:
Treo 650 SmartPhone with battery (phone is PERFECT, battery is still good)
Original Manuals and documentation
Disk containing all factory software
Factory Charge and Sync cables
Aftermarket Charge and Sync Cradle
Palm Hard-shell Belt-Clip Case
Disk containing my purchased apps and ringtones
Two years ago, just after AT&T acquired Cingular, I had to pay $400 for this phone since I was a Cingular customer and I couldn't get it "subsidized" when I bought it. I paid $40 for the case, and $95 for the apps.
I am asking $125 shipped CONUS. I usually ship UPS Ground, and I am PayPal ready. However, if you use PayPal from a credit card, I will want you to pay the additional fees (3.5%, I think). I will happily accept a USPS Money Order, as well.
If there is no interest on this here on RCG, I will list it on eBay this weekend.
Thanks for looking!
