Does anyone know how much it hurts when an RC10LSS hits your left foot
at 40 MPH? I do. Lots. Blood everywhere.
I'm starting to not like this car much. It's fast as bloody hell, but
the streets around here are pretty sandy and no tires on this planet
short of knobbies are going to stick to the pavement. I give up. As
soon as I sell this thing I'm going to pick up a XXX, D5 8t, and GT7
and pray that sticks to the road.
So, anyone want an ungodly fast on-road car? You'll need either clean
concrete or a prepped track and, for God's sake, wear shoes while
driving ;)

I dont' even want to think about a touring car hitting at 40 since
they weigh at least 50% more than a pan car. My foot looks like a
large, pissed off dog got ahold of it.

Youch. How'd you end up ramming your foot?
I rammed my RS4 into my foot (it was shoed ;) )
trying to do a fast fly-by! Nobody saw me though, hehe.

I was standing in the street, bringing the car back into the driveway
at about half throttle. The car was about 15 feet from me, just before
I started to turn away from me and into the driveway, when the rear
tires broke loose, spun like crazy, and the car spun to the left
almost 180 degrees and slammed into my foot. No fun. Unfortunately
that's about how it goes, every time, around here. The roads are
constantly covered by, at the very least, heavy dust. At worst it's
gravel and a ton of sand. I even spent an hour with the leaf blower
cleaning the street, looking like a psycho. Didn't work. I'll just
have to go with a slightly heavier car with twice as much traction,
way more suspension travel, and a huge motor ;)

well, it went out of control, the power box was loose and it made the
throttle servo go on full, so it went flying towards him, turned slightly,
started to barrel towards my car, then by some fluke the steering servo
jacked itself over to the left and it turned away and missed my front bumper
by about 3 feet.

Oh that's gotta suck. I don't like thinking about what happens if one
of my projects goes out of control. The 10LSS is capable, depending on
the sanity level of the gearing, of going more than 60 MPH. Even
though it weighs next to nothing the chassis is thin, hard, SHARP G10
fiberglass. The XXX (which I should be picking up tomorrow :) should
be able to do 70 and weighs substantially more. If it goes nuts and
nails someone in the foot at top speed, the ankle attached to that
foot is going to break. Scary stuff. Kinda makes you think about the
evil things that could happen if we aren't careful.

Not real tough, but I'm not completely happy with it yet. First I
masked off the lightning with 1/16" pinstripe tape, then sprayed a
3/4" wide fog of fascent purple down the tape, sprayed the whole thing
black, pulled out the tape, and sprayed pearl silver over the clear
spots. Took about an hour for both sides. Masking that body, however,
took bloody ages. I'd really like to make the bolt thinner and fade it
from white to blue as it goes down. Maybe masking fluid cut with a
pair of blades taped together? Or, after I get a new airbrush (mine is
a $10 single action external mix from Harbor Freight) I could put an
extremely fine nozzle on it and shoot it freehand.
I think I'm going to do more lightning on the XXX's body, possibly
winding around the xXx logo from the movie. I want to do some flames,
but I HATE masking those damned things!!! I'll definately have to put
a checkered flag on each side, though. Not just for looks, it helps
see the thing when it blasts past at mach 1 ;)

Screw that 'almost' crap. I DID get nailed with my buddies 1/8 scale ofna

damage. Bruises were all that I received.

We had a throttle arm break in a wide open position on a 1/8th and the
pieces lodged so the return spring couldn't pull it back. The car
launched off the berm at the end of the track and fortunatly flat panned
the guy he hit in the head rather than catching him with the bumper.
Still KO'ed him, and left a huge dent in the mobile home behind him.
