I just got into r/c boating again, and i bought a mini v a few months back to play with off my dock when im bored, and i got the bug again..i originally wanted a blackjack 26 nitro, but couldn't get one until sept. as per my local HS..
i have a bunch of nitro cars so i figure the next best boat was the nitro SV27....my LHS had one in stock..it was green..didn't think id like it, but the color is the best out on the water....

Sooo..i got the boat home, took it out and prepped it for the break in..i took the flex shaft out and loosened the prop nut a little, since i read a few people breaking them cause it was too tight from factory, and it was..i took it off greased it and put it back on, no problems...shes ready to run...

went outside to the dock..filled it with fuel, primed the carb, and.........nothing... ....could barely pull the starter cord..."DAMMIT SHES FLOODED ALREADY!!!" ...this was probably partly my fault since i get a little carried away with preventative maint. and i put some after run oil in the motor before i ran it..(don't ask me why) :o
so i pull the glow plug and i blow out all the fuel and start over, and after about 100 attempts to start the boat, and a big blister on my middle finger..i ask my brother to hold the throttle wide open while i crank it over..and BANG...first try to boat fires up....and it is LOUD.....louder then i thought and way louder IMO then any of my cars..

So just as usual the boat is running rough and really rich and keeps stalling out.....so after a few tanks of fuel i start leaning her out and WOW ..she screams across the water...by now the water behind my house is starting to get a little rough, and i notice that now since the boat is tuned and running perfect, it is pretty much nose in the air standing on the prop on full throttle runs.. i take it easy for a bit and i am about to bring it in, so i turn towards the dock and give it full throttle for a second, the boat catches a wave, and next thing its airborne and it lands upside down..the boat was upside down for a little over a minute before i was able to get on my jet ski and get over to it. :(
Now im thinking the boat is ruined since it had a pretty good about of water in it...so i drain it all all out and dry the inside as much as i can..the radio box stayed like 98% dry, which i was very happy about..i refilled the fuel tank..let the boat and electronics sit for a little and within 20 mins i was back on the water..the boat started right up...and it ran perfect..so all i did was bend the trim tabs down very very little and the boat rids perfect in the water and doesn't bounce or get the nose in the air on full throttle, and surprisingly it runs pretty well in rough conditions when its set up correctly...
Only problems i have now is the engine mount screws came loose, i was able to tighten the ones on the right side of the engine but the screws on the left are under the header and i cant get to them..now the engine moves back and forth in the boat a little and i don't wanna run it...
The second problem happened to the prop...on the last run i noticed right at the end the boat got significantly slower so i brought it in and noticed one of the blades sheared off the prop..i probably hit a something, so now i gotta go to the HS and pick up some spare props..possibly try out one of the props they recommend in the manual instead of stock prop.
And the third small problem is that the hatch cover was made crooked or something..it seals correctly and all that but there is a bigger gap on one side then the other...so it looks a little sloppy when the hatch is on the boat..im sure they would replace my hatch if i asked them to...other then that the build quality is very good and the hardware is quality.

The boat does attract attention from alot of people...i ran it on sunday behind my house and after a few mins of tearing up the waterway i had people watching from every house in the area, and the SV27 put on a good show...i brought it back to the dock and shut the engine off and people were clapping from all the houses :D
The next day my neighbor bought his kids a a Blackjack 26 Brushless...and oohh its soo nice..i definitely have to buy a nitro blackjack soon though..it is still a very nice boat as well...

ok i will try and get some pics up soon...i recommend this boat to anyone lookin for something new ..its very fast right out of the box, it handles very good even in some small chop even for beginners , and it looks very good on the water..
