Well as the big kid i am, there was no way i could leave for 3 weeks without trying my ship Smiley So last friday i went to the lake to do a quick sea trial to test the hull for any leak, and test the running gear. She is amazing! well i think Wink and im really proud of myself, since it was my first project, and she didnt sank Wink There was absolutly no water inside the hull after a 10 mins run, and the motors and ESC was only a bit warm, so considered i had to fight seaweeds for a good 3mins, and after that both props where full of grass, i consider that a good test! The 20 amps fuses never burnt, so that mean that even stuck in grass im under 20 amps! She's having a pretty large turning radius, simply because i didnt have enough time to program my TX to mix the motors with the rudder. Next step will be to install the structure, and start to add some more ballast as she is sailling high on the water.

As for the name Caoimhe is the name of my 5 months old baby girl. It's a gaelic name, and its prounounce ''Kee-vah'' HHS...well i didnt want to use any real name, so HHS stand for Her Highness Ship....it's a slight variation from the HMS/HMCS/HMAS etc etc etc Smiley

Here is a short clip of her first sailing.

Now since i know that she's running good i can enjoy my trip to Ireland Smiley

comments and advices are welcome!

Good job and congrats on a successful sea trial. The hull seems to run smooth and true in the video.

If you run regularly in a weedy area pay attention to weed buildup on your props. Modern electronics are very good but a amp spike could still take out a ESC if it has a component that is less than 100%. I have cooked one or two MOSFET transistors in my time. High amp loads can also unsolder your motor leads if bad enough.

All in all a impressive start.
