The LHSs here don't support this frequency, and they aren't willing to order either. I bought my radio (Futaba 4vf) 2nd hand and the rx is a bit on the heavy side (30g). We get LOTS of Esky stuff here and was wondering if the rx in the link below(or rxs in general) can be retuned to 29mhz without taking a soldering iron.

Anyone? Should i post this somewhere else? Which countries use 29mhz? Anyone?

You can look at http://www.rc-network.de/magazin/artikel_05/art_05-027/art_027-01eng.html for countries using your band.

As this question about retuning Rx was already posted on this forum you may want to try a search about it.
In general you have to increase the value of the capacitor associated with the "input coil" in order to reduce frequency.

Australia and New Zealand are the only places I know that allow 29MHz.

It's just about possiible that some receivers may have sufficiently wide tolerances that they will work just by plugging a 29Mhz crystal into them (there are certainly a few that work on 35 and 40MHz with no change). But it's not the sort of thing that most manufacturers will tell you so you'd have to do your own testing. I wouldn't risk it myself :(.

I recently found a couple of receivers both here in Malaysia and in Singapore in 29mhz but they cost more than what I paid for my Tx/Rx.
