Evening all
Just finished one of the above, and thanks again to Beav for setting up the
ECCPM and pitch curves. (Was complicated by the fact that my Futaba FF8,
FPT8UP does NOT support 120 degree ECCPM). BUT....according to the book it
needs about 8
degrees to hover at approx. 80% throttle. This seems high to me and there's
a hell of a step on the throttle curve at the bottom end in normal mode:
0,40,80,90 and 100.
Does anyone have any ideas? The motor's a Hacker 50-13, ESC Schulze 18.48K,
14 T pinion, 12 cell 2400 Sanyo battery pack and 500 mm Razors to beat the
air into submission.
BTW, the answer to the 120 degree mix was an electronic mixer box from Quick
UK which works a treat!

Al, is there not a leccy heli group somewhere? I'm sure I've seen references
to it. Anyway, before you get too bent out of shape over your throttle
curve, remember it's an eleccy thing and the motors don't work "quite" like
a gol-motor. You'll probably not notice that the "step" you've programmed
in.
Get it strapped to the stand and try it with the rotor blatters on, or get
Mike to hold it above his yed:-)

I have a Futaba 8UAP standard (not super) and it definitely does have
120 degree ECCPM!
I fly my Ergo SS, Venture 60 and Eccpm Superio. Works fine, you just have to
set it up manually. It tells you how to do it on the Futaba web site if you
read the FAQ. If you are interested I can mail you the instructions.

Thanks for that. My FF8 only supports SW 1 and SW 2. What I needed, out of
memory was SR3. I went to the Futaba site and found how to do it by manually
mixing channels but bought the ECCPM mixer box from Quick as a solution. It
works VERY well and by the time Beav had finished setting things up there
was NO interaction at all. Nice and smooth.

HI there Alan,
Why aren't you using governor mode? You have some nice equipment to do
just that. You could use the normal flight mode (with typical
throttle/pitch curves) to ramp up the rpm to flying speed and then switch
to flight mode 1 and have the throttle set to a constant, say 85%. This
will give you a constant head speed and the "throttle stick" will only
vary pitch. Take advantage of the built-in governor and get better
performance without having to mess with setting up the pitch/throttle
curves just right like you have to do with a glow ship.
For examples of how to do this with an 8103, check out the "setup a Tx for
governor mode" page:
http://www.LOGOheli.com/governormode.htm
Have fun with your nice new heli!

Thanks Glen, maybe I'll do just that. The only reason to stay with a pitch
curve is to keep with what I already know and am used to. In addition, the
gyro is a CSM 200 HH ONLY, a mode I have NOT flown before so there's a bit
of a learning curve.
I started the Logo up with the blades attached yesterday whilst strapped
sown and did it sound good! Can't wait to give it a go. Nice site by the
way, I've got a lot of good stuff from it over the last month or so whilst
doing my research.
