Just picked up a Taam Associated RC10. Whilst trying to start
it, my pull rope seems to no longer go back in the housing. It is
fully extended and just dangling out of the unit. Can this be rewound?
Do I need to go inside the housing to rewind it or is it dead? I am
surprised because I was beinge gentle, or so I thouhgt (:

I have the same problem with my Associated Nitro TC3. I have taken mine apart
and rewound it....but one pull and back to the same. It is alot less stressful
to replace the unit..(housing, cord, and spring. From looking at the parts
list, it appears everything is 20 Dollars or less. I don't remember seeing in
the engine manual as to which direction you wind the cord though

In my experience. Buy a new one. Its not worth rewinding it.

you are not supposed to yank it all the way out...short quick pulls will
start the engine right up...not long yanks,,,rewind it and try again..
