I assume that this was an On-Line order. In the comment section of your order did you tell them that it had to ship on Wed. so you could get it by Thur.??

I but in a order on Tuesday night

That is your problem. You should have ordered in the early morning in order for your order to get shipped out the same day. They were probably closed when you ordered, so that is why they did not ship it out untill the next day.

Oh, missed the thursday part. Also, it could have been that your package did arrive today, but your delivery service has not delivered it yet.

But you say you found out that they shipped it today eh? Must have taken a while to process, because of all the orders they get. And figuring out something like this is the worst case scenario. You figure you'll have it within 2 days, but it really takes 3 days to. Your package should arrive tomorrow however.

Not getting instant gratification sucks.
I'm incredibly spoiled here in SD with the number and quality of LHSs all on the way home from work.

You must drive by Kearney Mesa on the way home.....a nice cluster of hobby shops there.

Hasn't Dymond closed it's retail doors, now?...how will you and the other San Diego area folks ever survive without Helmut and wife?..;)

Do you ship same day? :D

I too learned the hard way the difference between 1 day shipping: package goes from their shipping department to my house in one day, and same day shipping-- they get it in the "out the door" the same day you order.
It is still rather odd to me that FedEx can get a 22 pound box of batteries from China to my front porch in under 30 hours--for $40, and it takes a hobby shop 4 days to get a $300 radio 12 feet from the shelf to the shipping department.

Maybe they mean running the shop is their hobby-- I don't know.

I ordered it on Tuesday night fig one day process and then ship on Wednesday.

Worth a call to HL and asking them what happened. they might be willing to reduce the shipping charges due to the situation.

I would have though they would have a process to prioritize the picking, packing and shipping of an overnight order.

However, stuff happens.

Yea but, it's tough when the 2 hobby shops I go by on the way home, don't have a part I need. Then, the next day I call a few other Hobby Shops around Houston and none of them have it. I go online later that evening and order the part. Every so often, my favorite Hobby Shop doesn't have what I am looking for, nor does another one about 5 miles further, but you can always find the part online, you just need to wait for it to arrive :(

You win some, lose some....

Thrawn150,

Please send me your contact info via PM and I will look into it for you. If we missed the date we'll refund the shipping. Regardless, I want to figure out what happened so it won't happen again.

We are upgrading nearly every system around here to make our service better. We don't claim to be perfect but we will always try and make it right. Customers are why we are here.

Thanks, Jay

Another very classy response by Hobby Lobby.

Every vendor has a glitch once in a while, but HL really is above the rest of the pack on customer service, IMO.

I have always been a big fan of HL. I just wish they would have a few more offerings in 480-.25 size arfs. the size, price, and quality of Tower and Horizon. But, dont worry, I still love you guys there at HL.
p.s. I am an all balsa guy, no foam here please.

hobby-lobby must of had a busy week this past week, it took a few days to process my order as well. Not a big deal but just a little unusual considering how prompt they usually are.

Oh, come on...

All this about a package shipped a day late? A motor mount? Who buys motor mounts from H-L, anyway?

Actually HL was pretty good, and I'm not trying to knock them, although the package was shipped on Tues instead of Mon. They could have shipped my package a week late, due to some small rare earth magnets that showed in stock, but weren't. HL shipped my package right away, and then shipped another less than a week later with the backordered magnets, on their tab. It's reasons like that which are why I deal with HL.
