Hi all,
Many of us are active in one or more forums, but when it comes to our regional forum, we are barely active. One can understand the fact by seeing number of replies one gets. Many posts are read widely but replied by few. Is it that we are slow in responding to our fellow modellers when he needs some help ?
In other forums, one gets quick replies which is lacking. I thought I would share with all here.
Thanks,
Joshi Dharmesh

Good point Joshi, I'm glad someone brought it up. I lobbied with the Administrators to set up this forum, but I'm disappointed with the lack of interest and lethargy in it.

Hi Guys, Iīm from Mexico. I just visited India for the last 20 days, returned last monday. Awesome country, very friendly people. I had a great time with my family. I wish I had seen you here before so we couldīve met there.
Do you know how many modelers are in India?, Do you have formal clubs? How is the hobby doing there?
Thanks

hello to Mr.joshi n Doc
i would like to point out few things !
1. there is that indiarc forum which is more popular where 1600 plus people are registered but i hardly see people active  same few guys active  and it has some draw backs which can be used to make this forum more popular
a) in indiarc we are not at the liberty of posting information about seller etc openly
but not so in this forum
b) we should start a new thread providing info on where to buy , whom to contact in one's particular part of city, town etc .
c) we need to popularize you forum although it's second to indiarc in a search , i have seen that people have no knowledge that there is a Indian regional forum in rcgroups and more over very few people or non mention our forum in there personal or community sites( Indian ).
2. most important of all we should open a special thread where there is good info on current rc tech. , basics and provide an actual cost of electric , glow n gas setup which can be purchased in India with best possible pricing and plus constantly update the pricing etc.
if you guys are serious , we can team up n start the work :)
AND SPECIAL THANKS TO MR.DOCROB FOR HELPING START YOUR OWN REGIONAL FORUM AND MR.JOSHI FOR BRING THIS TOPIC UP , I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE SOME TIME :)
HAPPY N SAFE FLYING

Hi All,
Thanks for sharing similar feelings. Sahil, you pointed to some basic topics what we can do to promote RC in our country. I would like to add one thing. We should encourage new hobbyists & guide them properly to advance their hobby & see that they stay tuned.
Let me tell something. I staretd as a gasser 'cause there were no electric guys. Also nobody was willing to guide me scratch build planes for myself. I think this should not happen to newcomers.
Let us get united & do some positive work.
Thanks,
Joshi Dharmesh

i completely agree with you , in fact i get call most of the time from school kids ,student etc saying " we want to get into aero modeling " but most of then are put off by the prices ( but i think this is going to change very soon ).
Let us get united & do some positive work.
i am 100% on this one , let us come together and do some work :)
i could say we need at least a person from each part of the country (Bombay, Hyderabad/sec,Bangalore,Delhi,chennai etc) who can contribute some time n get people involved :o
bye

ahil,
I am also member of indiarc but as you said only few guys are active there. Also there is lack of helping guys there. Looks like we people want to keep some kind of "TRADE SECRET" In my opinion there is nothing like trade secret.
I was at Bombay for two years & after struggling much I found that some people are flying at Mahalaxmi Racource ground. I regularly visited the ground. At that time I did not have RC plane. But nobody tried to even notice me or tried to introduce themselves. We believe RC hobby is for rich people only. Also only few are trying to scratch build their own planes. Actually I found out myself that scratch building is one of the funniest part of the hobby where your skills are put to test. Ofcourse flying is great but flying your own built plane is much more fun.
If anyone is interested in scratch building, I am ready to help.
Thanks,
Joshi Dharmesh

Hi dear Manish. :)
Joined just this day in the site. Saw ur post dtd 25th july in there n visited ur website also. Its still very much in need of improvement, both content-wise n appearance-wise. Pl get on with it n make it more informative.
Next thing is, there r no details abt ur models, including their avblty. The 1st thing is create awareness abt the models n ur activity by publicity sply thru website n more importantly, thru word of mouth, by phone, etc., Get the ph nos of members n enthusiasts. call them. Make them aware. The key is 'keep them avbl within reach both in terms of prices n locations OR directly.' Expect a call from me sometime soon.
Wishing ur endeavour all success n good luck.

the reason is aeromodelling is not that popular in india and the products sold here are costly. nearly 400% more than the orginal cost

i guess you are right prawin. they are costly, i was recently to india, ahemadabad, and i broke a prop on one of my planes. 300 rs. for a 10X8 prop. wow!!!!!,,,,i spent $1.5 on the same prop here in u.s.
i dont know but could be a suggestion, if someone builds something, let's post a review, or build log to make it more active.

Hi all -
I have just created a forum for RC hobbyists from India. Please visit and be a member at http://www.rcindia.org
Like others who expressed their opinion about indiarc being too restrictive for commercial reasons, I felt the same, and hence made this forum.
Plus I have been running such a forum for Qatar, where I am currently based.
I assure you that on rcindia.org, your post will never be moderated for commercial reasons.
Regards,
Anwar.
